OBJECTIVE – Establish for our future, safe ways to move about our City, our County, our State without a motorized vehicle – by bike or by foot.

BROAD SCOPE – trails, multi-use paths, bike lanes on roads, shared facilities

COMMITTEE is comprised mostly of bikers because like the “canary in the mine” we are the first to see the damage being done to our quality of life by urban sprawl. (Doug story)

COMPROMISE SOLUTION is Greenways which are linear parks which aim to preserve these special areas while at the same time provide safe conduits for bicycle, pedestrian, and wildlife traffic.

NO BRAINER – State, county, and every major city with a focus on preserving its quality of life are pursuing Greenways -- Chattanooga, Knoxville, Oakridge, Nashville, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, Smyrna, Gallatin, White House, Portland, etc.

STRATEGY – layout a 15 year plan in our report to the HTC and take our message to the citizens to build Grass Roots Support.

PLANS –
- Promote and educate through WEB Page, Essay Contest, Organized Bike Rides,
Petitions, News Letters, Safety Manuals, News Paper Articles, Presentations to BOMA.
      - Assist (a.k.a help) City Planners, Engineers, Officials –  provide resource to help
      implementing Greenway Concept.

ORGANIZATION – Steering Committee, Advisory Committee, and Concerned Citizen Group.
